The Vision for the Vedic University, integral to the Mission of the Sanctuary for Peace, allows many opportunities for those inspired to participate, to serve the Dharma and to contribute to a project that holds the Highest Intention to benefit humanity. Wonderful progress takes place on different levels when we work together, hand in hand, towards a common vision and offer ourselves in service to the Greater Good.

Seva, Selfless Service

Seva is a Sanskrit word from the root sev meaning to attend to or to go towards. This has been expanded to mean service performed in a selfless, compassionate way. In English, Seva has been translated as “selfless service”. Selfless could be considered as having or exhibiting no concern for oneself. A selfless person puts the wellbeing of others ahead of any need for personal gain or achievement.
